How to get to Urfa
Airport, coach station and getting around the city.
Hot season tip:
Do open sites (Göbekli Tepe, Harran) between 08:00–10:30. Stay in the bazaar and museums at noon; water and a hat are essential.
Airport
GAP Airport (GNY) is about 45 minutes from the centre. Airline shuttles and taxis run.
Coach station
Coaches from Gaziantep and Mardin take around 4 hours. City bus or taxi from the otogar.
Göbekli Tepe
Taxi, hotel shuttle or museum-front tours. Minibuses stop at the junction; 2–3 km remain on foot.
Harran
Day car or tour. Public transport stretches the day; air-conditioning is essential in summer.
In the city
Taxis are plentiful in the centre. Municipal buses and minibuses cover main avenues. For Göbekli Tepe, hotel shuttles, taxis or museum-front tours are the usual options.
Harran
About 40–50 minutes from the centre by car or organised tour. Combine with a half-day plan if you have three days.
